Above Deck Closings, LLC (“Above Deck Closings,” “we,” “us”) provides vessel documentation, title, and closing services. This policy explains what information we collect through our website and in the course of providing our services, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
Information we collect
- Contact form submissions — name, email address, phone number, your role in the transaction, vessel details, transaction type, and anything you write in your message.
- Transaction information — documents and details you provide to us so we can perform documentation, title, registration, and closing services.
- Communications — records of calls, emails, and text messages with us.
Our website does not collect payment information, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about your transaction.
- To perform the services you engage us for — USCG documentation, title and registration, escrow-coordinated closings, and foreign-flag registration.
- To send transaction-related notices, including scheduling, document status, appointment reminders, and wire-fraud security notices.
- To comply with legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations.
SMS / text messaging
If you check the SMS consent box on our contact form (or otherwise give us your express consent), we may send you text messages about your inquiry and transaction — for example, scheduling and confirming calls or closing appointments, document status updates, requests for transaction paperwork, and security reminders. We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

We may share your Personal Data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that operate our website, CRM, email, e-signature, and phone/text systems, solely so they can provide those services to us.
- Transaction parties — such as the U.S. Coast Guard National Vessel Documentation Center, state title/registration agencies, flag registries, lenders, and brokers — when necessary to complete the services you engage us for.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Data retention & security
We keep transaction records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal and regulatory record-keeping requirements, then delete or archive them. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us at the details below (subject to records we must keep by law).
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with a new effective date.
